Outplacement’s Positive Impact on Employee Engagement to Be Highlighted in Aberdeen Group Webinar

October 26, 2011

Employee engagement is an area of growing interest as revenue-growth expectations continue to outpace planned increases in headcount. HR managers and executives can learn how employees are more committed to their jobs at companies that offer outplacement services in a free Aberdeen Group webinar, “Using Outplacement to Enhance Engagement.” The RiseSmart-sponsored event is set for Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 9 a.m. PDT/ 12 p.m. EDT.

“Outplacement is more than just the ‘right thing to do,’ it is a smart investment. The Aberdeen Group findings to be discussed in this webinar confirm this very powerfully,” said Sanjay Sathe, founder and CEO of RiseSmart.

The webinar will include results from recent Aberdeen research on companies offering outplacement, including:

  • 48 percent consider more than 60 percent of their workers highly engaged, a level of engagement seen at just 33 percent of companies not offering outplacement
  • 63 percent offer outplacement in order to improve engagement and retention among existing workers
  • Just 6 percent said they could not recommend the services to peer organizations because they had failed to meet expectations.

The webinar will be led by Mollie Lombardi, research director of Aberdeen’s human capital management practice, who will overview Aberdeen’s research.

Caitlin Stango, senior workplace relations manager at Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC), the Fortune 500 scientific, engineering and technology applications company, will present a case study on the factors that led SAIC to offer outplacement and its impact on employee engagement within the organization.

Karen Stevens, director of client services at RiseSmart, will discuss how the research validates the company’s unique approach to outplacement services.
