SAN JOSE, Calif., December 6, 2016RiseSmart, the leading provider of contemporary career transition services, today announced Silicon Valley Business Journal has named its Senior Vice President of Operations and Finance, Dan Davenport, a CFO of the Year. The prestigious annual award recognizes the most influential financial executives across the Silicon Valley. Winners are selected based on their role within their organization, leadership, insight and judgment.

Davenport was recognized at Silicon Valley Business Journal’s award reception on December 1, 2016. Davenport accepted the award alongside nine executives from world-class organizations including Paypal, Symantec and others.

“I’m honored to be recognized as a financial leader alongside such an impressive group of Silicon Valley executives,” said Davenport. “But I consider this a team award -- the real recognition belongs to the great group of people I get the opportunity to work with every day at RiseSmart."

Each year, Silicon Valley Business Journal honors “the financial wizards who work behind the scenes” by hand selecting individuals in finance and operations who are leading their Silicon Valley-based companies to success. In his role as head of finance, accounting, and administration at RiseSmart, Davenport was a driving force behind the company’s global expansion and rapid growth. Davenport co-founded RiseSmart with founder and CEO Sanjay Sathe, after nearly a decade of work with Sabre Holdings, the parent company of Travelocity.

"We congratulate Dan on receiving this much-deserved award. We're excited that the financial industry has recognized Dan's contributions and his expertise in business operations," Sathe said. "Under Dan's leadership, our team has shown consistent growth and built RiseSmart to be the leader in contemporary career transition solutions."

RiseSmart takes an innovative approach to outplacement delivery by focusing on accountability and efficiency. Through an agreement signed by its parent company, Randstad, RiseSmart recently announced that it broadened its outplacement support in Australia and New Zealand. RiseSmart will continue to expand globally in the coming years to support the growing number of multinational corporations and their employees.

“My recognition as a financial leader is truly a testament to RiseSmart’s progress and success over the past year. I look forward to driving continued growth in 2017 and beyond as we continue to serve as career transition partners with our customers across the globe,” said Davenport.
